Born For This

Having watched The Cove a couple of months ago I was inspired to take up some of the designs I had begun a few years ago. This poster was taking another angle but with the recent and tragic death of Dawn Brancheau I wanted to highlight the problem of cetaceans in captivity.

Cetaceans are wild, intelligent creatures, born with natural instincts and behaviours, designed for a life swimming hundreds of miles free in the open ocean. When these magnificent creatures are confined to captivity in an area equivalent to what a bathtub would be to us and asked to carry out repetitive tricks for food year after year, can we really be surprised when there's a burst of erratic, agitated behaviour.

Our thoughts go out to Dawn's family and friends.
